| A HERO FALLS A coffin is draped with the flag Died for us, a selfless sacrifice Paying for freedom with his life A hero won't come home tonight A crying woman clutches her child after the call Another father, husband, another hero took a fall Took an oath to protect and serve A violent, unneeded death he didn't deserve Another hero dies, our hopes taken away Left in the dark life, mourning another day There is a hero inside us all, waiting, ready to fight But until then, another hero falls tonight The trumpet sings a sad song Rifles sound off in the air Sea of the mournful cloaked in black Another hero slaughtered without care Mike Wilson Jr. 2006 |
